Had a guy call today about a couple mounts that were just in a house fire and have smoke damage. I haven't seen the mounts first hand but he said the only real damage he can tell is they smell really strong of smoke. Is there any certain cleaning products (or even pet products) that can be used to get rid of the smells without damaging the hair? Thanks

I have used simple green and water to clean mounts that hung in bars.

  3. Get some Seybrite. I just cleaned 5 mounts that were in a fire. They turned out fine.

You can get a kit that will do 5 to 8 heads for around $18 from the suppliers.

  4. Try Wisoli.com product APC-120,and a product called SPICE. designed to absorb and remove smoke realted osors due to fires. They have a ton of cleaning products sold in concentrate gallon jugs.Decent prices hope it helps.

Could try sprinkling baking soda all over it and rubbing it in and blow it out in a week.
