My second mount on ben mears semi sneak offset, tohickon eyes and mckinzie earliners
from my understanding you shouldn't see white in the same spot on both eyes. it would be like maby hes looken crosseyed. the white should be on obesity side of each eye. like if hes looken to the left or right. the white should be in the back of one eye & in the front of the other eye. that's what iv been tought.
tem. you don't know what your talking about, when a deer is looking strait and focus on something it can have the white in back of both eyes. For number 2 deer good job, you need to move the ear buts up to the antlers, and put more detail in them.........
Keep up the good work.
I cant say anything about anatomy as I haven't done a mount myself yet. However it looks smooth and sleek. Very good job.
doug. you could be right. but i also read on here that some said you shouldn't see any white in the eye in less he is looking to the side.
Very nice for a second mount.
tem. Mike Rohanna told me the same thing. He told me that the only time a deers eyes would be like that if it was looking at a fly on its nose or something. But looking straight on at this deer it doesn't appear that way.
very good job on your second mount. i agree that the ears need to be brought up a little. the bottom of the ear should have more clay in it. on the eyes, i have heard it both ways but look at a deer in a pin ( if your able) , they do so much with their eyes by moving them around and stuff. so it is possible to have white showing in the back of both eyes or it could be reversed.( my 2 cents). i did notice that the paint on the nose was a little light/ bluish in color. looks like you used some paynes grey or yox nose pad grey? both are great colors to use on the nose but to much of each will cause the colors to be to bold. tone them down a little and then use a detail black tone fad/shad the colors to your desire . hope this helps, YOU ARE ON THE RIGHT TRACK, DEER LOOKS VERY GOOD!
Looks real clean for your 2nd good job. I agree on the ears they need to be built up a little more and moved up closer to the antler base. Nice lookin deer.
I agree, move the ears a bit. Picturing the deer with no antlers, makes those ears really look wrong.
Funny I have been judged by Mike R and had my eyes just like that maybe a little less white, and got a best of show at the OTA show...You guys need to study reference, a deer can turn his head left or right and still have the white showing in the back of his eyes. it depends what is going on.
Did you lengthen the muzzle? Maybe it's just foreshortening in the photo but the deers face looks too long. Look at the distance from the eye to the back corner of the mouth.
