Deer- Clover plots?

    Bill,
    You can get the seed! I dont know if you can get it in a large quantity. I have a small seed box on the back of my drill that is used to put hay seed down when you plant oats, barley, wheat or whatever and it gauges the smaller seed differently than the larger seed up in the hopper and sprinkles it on top the soil. What do you think about sunflowers??

    The deer here just eat the leaves off the bean plant while it is young and they dont develope to have any pods. Thank god its only on the edges of the field.

    I dont have any experience with sunflowers as a cover plant or as a stand, per se...I do add a small amount of sunflower seed in my deer feed though. Sorry about that, I just dont have an accurate answer there! :)

    buckmaster14 Sometimes you get lucky...

    sunflowers are a good source of food for deer, and turkey as well. IF you can get them to eat it before the songbirds get to them all. Id definately try it if i could.
