to be honest there is no way to do that.

  3. I have made several antler lamps and there are only a few ways to do them, you can dremel out a groove then scuplt it back in or use any thing you can imagine to run the wire through.Like an arrow, rifle cartridges,or a spike horn,or even a beautiful piece of wood. But know way to drill all the way through. You can even cut the main beam in half, length wise and glue it back and then blend back in but that takes alot of time.

  4. Of coarse it would be,that is neat with that lamp but how is that done?

  5. I still can"t see how that can be done without going through the sides, specially with a horn.

  6. You may have something there.Even if it took 6 months. The center is a lot softer then the middle and there is probably something that would work its way through but what.I don't know.It is very interesting though.

the only thing REMOTELY close to doing this is the shoffar ,made by curving a heavy piece of wire to match the horn of a ram then heat the end cherry red burn pull out repeat SEVERAL times .,,but horn is a lot different than antler which is actually bone

You can drill them without having to patch holes, but it takes a lot of practice. I have made tom=ns of these lamps and once in a great while i will get the right antler and lots of luck. Use a 5/16 bit and eye ball it so you can drill from both ends. Sometimes your holes line up and some times they don't. WEAR GLOVES!!!! I burried a few inches of a bit up the inside of my middle finger last year. Never had an exit hole, the bad part was once the drill stopped turning I had to pull it out of my hand. Then try and did all the antler fragments out. Lots of practice and some antlers you don't mind patching and you will figure it out. If u have any ?? pm me

George, if this is not enough proof you send me a Qualifying antler, I will remove the bone marrow and send it back. If that is not proof of the pudding what is?.
