I have some hides that were tanned by a commercial tannery here in Texas. Question I have is they are soft but not totally flat,,, still some wrinkling around the outsides.

What needs to be done to them? Do they need to be stretched and trimmed ?

    Thanks in advance.

    I am not a taxidermist.

  2. Skins usually have some wrinkling arouund the edges. Especially in areas where the skin is very thin like the groin area and the arm pits. They can be trimmed like you see the cow hides done.

So I guess everyone agrees that all I need to do is trim them ?

  4. you can send them to me and I can do it for you for a nominal price.

Dont assume that because not many answered your post,We all agree....................

  6. Are you saying I am wrong? For an individual to rehydrate and stretch the hides is risky. Need to see pics to confirm my opinion.
