    What's up, Kerby?
Trying to hijack my thread? :D
Will I see you in Kansas next month?
I'll be judging game heads and lifesize again.

Nope, if I was hijacking your thread there would have been a picture of a reptile. ;D

Not doing Kansas this year, but I will next year. I believe next year it will be in Junction City, KS where I graduated from high school and where my mom and brother live.

My next show will be at the World Show in May, then our Arizona show in June. And this year I might be entering stuff besides reptiles and fish. :)

    Later,

    Kerby...

This last week I had the pleasure of teaching Jeremy Garness of Montana.
Jeremy had a few gameheads under his belt, but wanted to improve.
I had him bring a previous head he had mounted just so we could go through it at the end of the week.
The difference between his previous head and the one he mounted here was huge!

    Congrats, Jeremy!

Re: Another Student from Taxidermy Workshops

Jesse Jones from Idaho was my most recent student.
He opted to take the full course covering Gameheads, Lifesize, and Habitat.
The elk, raccoon and bobcat were all raw skins which we tanned in-house.
Both the bobcat and raccoon were altered. The elk was given detachable antlers.
He also completed an open mouth bear rug, but it didn't make it back from the rugger by the time he left.
We also covered pedestal mounts and antler repairs.
    Congratulations, Jesse!

    STUDENT EARNS A BLUE RIBBON!

As some of you may recall, I taught Jesse Jones from Idaho my techniques for mounting gameheads, lifesize and habitat.
After leaving my course, Jesse went home and started to work on a fox mount for the upcoming Idaho state competition. (I told him that he couldn't enter any of the pieces he did here in class.) ;) Jesse had never competed before, and entered his piece in the Professional Division. He called me right after the competiton to let me know he received a blue ribbon!!
This is what Jeese had to say, " Here it is, my first blue ribbon in the pro division. Thanks for being such a great teacher. Couldn’t have done it with out you!"

    Congratulations, Jesse!
