OK, all I did today was rough mount the deer. I mount mine wetter than most so anything I try to do will be different tomorrow so I get it close and leave it to der with a bag over it's eyes and nose

I finish trimming the hide off the back. you ALWAYS cut from the skin side, not the hair side

and clean any excess glue with windex

take the form off and rough off the rest

    Start applying the rock mix

take your excess and make tiny rocks out of it :) that way you can lay a few in the habitat and it'll match the backing of the pedestal giving the habitat and the mount a slight bit of cohesion

    smash in your faux plate

and start texturing your mix as it begins to set

now your real finish plate will be inset

finish cleaning the hair and any excess

wrap the base up for coloring later and stick the deer on to dry overnight

and this is how I left him till sometime tomorrow

Very nice Mike, except for maybe the shorts. Educational and entertaining at the same time.
  18. Its kinda fun watchin someone else work for a change. Vincenzo's called and they're missing a table cloth, 2 women , and 3 bottles of wine..I think I know why you took today off!. Good work on the deer!

he's not working all these reality show are the same, this project is already 20 years ;D in the making. The only reason I know this has to be a re-run is because they quit making those shorts in the late 80's!!! Lmao
