DEER IS LOOKING REALLY NICE MICHAEL!!!
Miranda just came home from her fishing trip and brought me a present for working so hard this weekend....
Now that's a good looking pair of shorts!!! I'm gonna look SEXY! LMAO!
Those remind me of the tablecloth at lunch today. LOL
Man I wish I had a sweet pair of shorts like that. I gotta go find me some. And nice work on the deer so far! I can't wait to see how it turns out.
Did you guys notice his entertainment corner in his shop? Mini-fridge, microwave and aTV with the race going on... nice!
yep. and that's probably why its taking michael so long. ;D and I'm surprised the hide stays put with so little hide past. looken good mp.
Headed home I'll try to post pics. Glad I went out, met up with some friends and we had a blast!
Nothing like a good ol' Texas honky tonk! Ugh and I gotta work 2morrow!
OK, all I did today was rough mount the deer. I mount mine wetter than most so anything I try to do will be different tomorrow so I get it close and leave it to der with a bag over it's eyes and nose
I finish trimming the hide off the back. you ALWAYS cut from the skin side, not the hair side
and clean any excess glue with windex
take the form off and rough off the rest
Start applying the rock mix
take your excess and make tiny rocks out of it that way you can lay a few in the habitat and it'll match the backing of the pedestal giving the habitat and the mount a slight bit of cohesion
smash in your faux plate
and start texturing your mix as it begins to set
now your real finish plate will be inset
finish cleaning the hair and any excess
wrap the base up for coloring later and stick the deer on to dry overnight
and this is how I left him till sometime tomorrow
Awesome Keep em coming ;D
Man this is some cool chit for this beginner to watch! Thanks for sharing,Doug
Does the buck have white fur down the back of it's head and neck?
Looks like the glare off the light !
Looks like a clay slurry to help keep his hair at the seam down.
Good Job Mikey!
Nope, it's EXACTLY what Dan said.......
Very nice Mike, except for maybe the shorts. Educational and entertaining at the same time.
Its kinda fun watchin someone else work for a change. Vincenzo's called and they're missing a table cloth, 2 women , and 3 bottles of wine..I think I know why you took today off!. Good work on the deer!
he's not working all these reality show are the same, this project is already 20 years ;D in the making. The only reason I know this has to be a re-run is because they quit making those shorts in the late 80's!!! Lmao
LMAO!! You guys are HARSH!!!
Just walked in and stained the rock and added the plate. Sorry so late, me and the misses spent the day with family, really good day
Here's the back
