Dennis, it's evident that very damned few of us understand what you're saying here. As I say, "You can't cure stupid."

Tom Cruickshank The History Channel says I'm "creepy"!!

I wonder if cops have a website where they go to snivel about CSI and how they get their DNA test results back the same day they scrape them off the ground or serial killers are caught, tried, convicted and sentenced between Viagra commercials? Sheeeesh..... :p

Great post. I really enjoy the show. I think it brings a positive public awareness to our industry. I had a young couple stop in to pick up some mounts yesterday. The wife got out to look at my shop, which is a disaster!!! She wondered around, looked at everything, and said she had never considered visiting a taxidermy shop til she saw that show! I desperately need to begin keeping my shop tidier for both myself and the industry. Thumbs up to "Mounted in Alaska"!!!

The thing I get out of the show is that their customers are happy and they are charging fair prices!!!!

My definition of a successful business is getting and keeping your customers happy, coming back and spending money on your products and services in a way that makes it mutually beneficial to both parties.

They know how to run a business better than most in my opinion.

I think the show is great! It really hits on how hard we work although few clients will see this. I love the dings on many of the issues we face on a day to day basis. The main thing I get out of the show is - yes taxidermy for some is a hard working professional endeavor. I had the pleasure of having a former Knights employee work at my studio and we did compare operations. It is extremely difficult to operate a studio of that size efficiently and stay in business.
    Great Show! keep it up

I personally like the show. I do think the cut scenes should have "2weeks later" or some such, but other than that I get a great laugh at how the customers talk expecting you to recreate what didnt exist. Or how you mis cut something or get a hide and your like "what the heck is this?" Then you realized its a warthog not a badger, sigh and say, well maybe I can save it haha. :D I like how they are very professional and show all the different personalities you work with in the industry. I love how they present the challenge and dude takes it by the horns. But yeah, it does need a time frame or some reference of how long it takes lol. I think we should all be humble, not everyone runs thier business the same. However, before we start throwing stones in our glass houses, I think we should remember, he is a professional, he is making money...enough money to support employees and his customers are often extatic about thier trophies. I cant wait for the next one to come out! :-*

i like the show and like the way it depicts taxidermy.that being said,i find it interesting that almost every member of this site that is outspoken about 'telling it like it is" and "calling them as they see them"has come on here and siad don't tell it like it is and don't call them as you see them because some non taxidermist may be on here,
this is a forum for taxidermists by taxidermists, warts and all where we should be able to come here and say what we feel. When you put yourself out there, you better be able to take it.
Basically ya'll are saying the truth may offend someone,so lets avoid it,which is very ironic, coming from this bunch of people.

Thank You Dennis. It's a shame that a post like this has to be made, but evidently it does. I wonder sometimes how people learned to dress themselves. Our industry has got to have some of the most stupid people on earth. Here we have something to show us in a good light and people want to turn the lights off. I just don't get it. Can't stand prosperity I guess. Some peoples glasses are always half empty. I haven't seen anything yet to make this show anything but a positive. The negative has showed up here of all places. Go figure.

I know in my little community, the constant question I get asked about the show is, "Hey Tim, did you see that show on taxidermy? I say, I did and they respond with, That is a cool show. What you guys do is really cool. I haven't heard one word about, staged, bad work, hey where's my mount and why isn't it done, nothing negative. All positive. But yet some here want the truth. If you are a taxidermist, YOU KNOW THE TRUTH ALREADY. There is a big difference between truth in the industry and truth in advertising. Think I'm wrong? When was the last time you advertised with a picture of your work that wasn't your best foot forward? When was the last time you placed an ad in the newspaper showing you skinning an animal? You haven't. You place an ad showing your finished work, and your best work at that. This is nothing more than an advertisement for our industry. And I see it as a positive advertisement.

Since this show first aired, I have had TWO LADIES bring in OLD mounts to be cleaned up, put back together and brought out of storage. Suddenly they went from someone who didn't want something taxidermied, to someone who has had a change in heart about something dead hanging on their walls. Yes, I think the show is a positive thing in the way that taxidermy has suddenly became COOL.

    Thank You, Mr. Knight.
  20. I rather enjoy the show and think it is GREAT for the industry! I dont get on Taxi.net much anymore due to all the crap talking and BS.. Ive got too much to due to make a living instead of arguing with the hopeless
