Had a customer bring in a old mount, mallard had pictures when it was mounted/killed many years ago and the iridescent green on the head is faded to a drab olive. Great sentimental valve. Does anybody know any way to restore this coloring?

Is it just dirty? Did you try a little acetone to see what it would do?

In all likelyhood, the bird was exposed to either sunlight or flourescent light. UV will fade any taxidermy mounts.
