The Month in Fish Pictures" ~Year 5~ June 2011 !!!!!!!!

A warm welcome from Hinsdale New Hampshire! What an outstanding Month in Fish pictures this past last month as I took sometime this morning and looked at some truly inspiring works of fish art! Back from the “ATQ” the Quebec Taxidermist association show in Drummensville, Quebec, Canada I was reminded how important it is to attend your local are taxidermy shows. I have had the privilege to have been a Seminar instructor and a judge there several times over the years and I have seen great improvement and truly some incredible work from folks who continue to improve and progress with their art of taxidermy. This is all a benefit of attend a taxidermy convention! Support your local taxidermy association go there to meet new friends or juts to see the old friends but go to learn as much as you can!

I want to thank all the Veterans out there as well for the sacrifice and dedication to service for country and citizen that we are so blessed to have and be able to thank such individuals for the opportunity to live in the USA as free citizens under God! I thank all the veterans past and present for all that you do! God Bless each and every one of you!

We share in fish pictures to find a common place with friendliness and positive comments of motivation as a great place to start in upward in direction of inspiration in being a fish taxidermist! I wish all the best to folks competing in the up coming year and I do wish all the very best in the pursuits of good fish work!

I do hope you have the opportunity to be thankful for your gifts of great passion and talent as an artist! It is a blessing to me for our lives to be joined from time to time to share and learn from one another so thank you for your great taxidermy work and my your lives continue to be blessed with inspiration!!!!

I want to personally say thank you for letting me join you again each installment of Fish Pictures to share in your successes and accomplishments! I have seen first hand the great strides so many have made with beautiful fish work! Good for you and congratulations on your hard work!!!!

Let's start off this March recognizing those from all over the world who shared their wonderful work with all of us! Thanks for all the beautiful fish work in this past month’s pictures! Absolutely breathtaking art work!!!!!

I want to also thank all of the great contributors who not only share their personal great talents and work but also rather give such positive inspiration to all of us!

From beginner's to the best in the world we all join in every month in a critique free and hassle free string with nothing more then great artist and inspiring fish taxidermist and carves get together to share with one another their praise and inspiration of good will and friendship to one another. No egos just friendly folks who appreciate the efforts of others!

I want to start the month of March with several talent fellows who I have the pleasure to know and have worked with great talent! Mr. Brian Noody of Garden City, New York, who needs no introductions as a great contributor to the Month in fish pictures, Mr. Joe Breyettes of Tacoma Washington a hard working and proud Veteran and retired US Ranger, Mr. Mike Boyden from Hughesville, Maryland, and this weeks student Mr. Jeff Crawford of who is a very accomplished taxidermist from St. Marys, Pennsylvania! Looks great Dave, good to see you post a fish. I agree with you on that crappie eye. Very nice!
Now that's a chrome fish Stormcloud!

Here is a first time fish (Bass) for me as well. This was created from a mold of my (current) largest Smallmouth. Besides being my personal trophy I decided I needed to branch out and start working with warm water fish. So, this is a rendition of a Smallmouth from the hand of a cold water specialist. Lucky for me, the only way I can personally get better is to handle more of these fish. I always love a good excuse to go fishing… She has a few anatomy issues due to molding a dead fish but I kept her skin and will be working up the skin mount next. I used the Woods & Water paints for this fish, coupled with liquid scales. Two quality products that worked well together.

I shaped the grass out of aluminum and painted it to match some of the colors in the fish.

The eyes are hand made by layering paint within clear resin.

My contribution, A Brown trout , blank by Anglian Artisans. Busy working on a base now, I have been trying to mold and cast artificial reeds but your idea of using aluminum Harum may be a better way to go.
