I'm starting to dabble in living wildlife painting. Here is one of the first completed works (Mallard). I've got a large blue heron painting completed and one more that is currently being worked on. I'll photograph the first blue heron painting either today or tomorrow and upload it here.

Great work. i have always been fascinated by how you artists can get the shine off the water, with a brush and paint. I'm still amazed!!

thanks everyone, we've been moving more towards the wildlife stuff this summer which has been great. its amazing what a good camera will allow you to capture. my regular point and shoot was okay (biiiiiiiig stress on okay) for the still lives but ive been wanting to move towards live ref. im really greatful that my husband is turning out to have natural talent with a good camera, i couldnt live without good reference.
