At least its just broke.
I did just about the same thing stepping off the porch 2 1/2 years ago. I thought It was broke went to the doc. said its not broke but wanted me to go to Orthopedic doc. after that and a MRI and more ex rays. It was 3 torn ligaments.
Doc said it would have been better to break it. It took almost a year to heal. and it still bothers me like crazy.

Wish you well. Went through that with my son last year. The Docs were debating whether to operate and pin it. I know it's the other bone, but still.
Turned out that about 10 weeks in a boot did the trick.

Ouchie! Hope it gets better soon...I went through close to the same thing once, fell off my high-heels trying to run in them lol...I feel for you. Hoping for a speedy recovery!
