Skinning a raccoon for a LS mount.... A spin-off of "To split or not to split"

Discussion in 'Lifesize Mammals' started by Michael Brigman, Aug 7, 2011.

  1. Every single small mammal I've seen on the For Sale board (with a split tail) has been split on the bottom. So if I use a dorsal cut to skin a coon, do I split the tail on the top or bottom? If I split the tail on the bottom, is the dorsal cut the best choice for a coon?

    Thank You

Split on the bottom. and the cut would depend on the pose you want the mount in.
