Anyone know most accurate way to measure a turkey that the breast meat has been cut away from the bone. Local Nero surgeon opened up bird, he shot and skillfully removed meat clean. Can get all measurements but circumference around breast. Any good formula for this, without unthawing skin and measuring skin? I would like to order form and do legs before thawing again. Thanks

I make sure I have one of every size (Brett's forms) in my shop before I mount any turkey. I test fit before I wire the bird up. I've never measured a bird, but sometimes will weigh the BIG ones. Hope this helps.

    Carlton,

What I do in this situation is to take calipers and measure the thickness from the middle of the back bone to the breast bone. There is no meat over that bone. If you use Brett's bodies, call him and he will be able to tell you which one will work for your measurements.
