Hope they sock it to them. These guys are all old enough to know better. If you can't do the time, don't do the crime. ;)

A public hanging is in order! You know if they handed out some REAL punishment, you wouldn't see this $hit all the time! Atleast revoke their hunting license for life.

First I've heard of it being in Indianna ALSO. If that is the case where they not only checked it in Illinois but Indianna also, that might be a Lacey Act Law violation on top of everything else. From what I hear and read, these guys have screwed the pooch and bought the farm.

Notice how long they were being watched before being arrested? We had a ring of poachers here in our county about two years ago, they killed over 100 deer, just shooting and letting them lay. They let them make a long rope before they stopped them.

That deer was killed in 2009.

Poaching in Texas has dropped considerably since they made it a felony.

How bout the real story. I don't think IN was ever involved. And that buck was bumped from #1 to #2 when panel scored.

Anybody else notice the green salvage tag attached to the left brow tine? Would make me think he never had a tag at all. These are used for "found dead".
  10. I dont believe that is the actual deer killed this year. The news media used a picture of the mounted deer for whatever reason. I dont think the deer poached this year would be released from evidence to be mounted yet.

I heard these guys killed 2 dozen deer the largest being a 32 pointer. They killed it just north of Morris Illinois. (approx 40 miles west of Chicago)

It was an 11 month investigation. That deer was at the Deer Classic in 2010. That is the deer I do believe.

  12. Not that deer Tim. This is a diiferent one shot this year (illiegally) near Morris.

I'm blown away by the price values they are claiming these racks are worth. 25K for a 213 non-typical?? Not hardly.

The fines and penalties are not enough, because we still hear about this all over the country every year. When they make more money on illegal taking and selling of our wildlife than a fine, that is the problem and nothing will stop this unless they give them jail time, but we all know that won't happen.

    Chris Kiernan
Chris Kiernan has been hunting for the last 30 years. In 1993, Chris decided to take on the challenge of hunting exclusively with his bow. While Chris has hunted everything from Blacktail Deer on Kodiak Island to Elk in Wyoming and Turkeys in Michigan, his favorite challenge and success comes with hunting the Midwest Whitetail. The Illinois native has taken more than 30 Pope and Young Whitetails. Most of those bucks gross more than 150”, six of his top deer gross more than 170” and so far Chris has taken two giants scoring more than 200”.

Christopher Kiernan was one of the guys evolved with this and he was sponsored by elite archery... very sad!! take note in the last part of this bio from elite archery website!

Chris’ passion for bowhunting goes beyond the woods. He has found great success on the 3D range. In 2000, Chris won the IBO Outdoor World Championships in the Male Bowhunter Release Class. The sport is also a family affair as Chris’ wife, Maria, and son, Brenden, shoot 3D while Chris’ dad, Jerry, is an avid bowhunter as well.

Chris says his most memorable hunting moment came in the fall of 2009. He successfully ended his two-year quest to harvest a 37-point non-typical giant. It is truly a buck of a lifetime, but that won’t stop Chris from trying to surpass his greatest hunting accomplishment to date.
