Dennis, put down the cigerette, and get you some 90 isopropyl alcohol and put it in a spray bottle, spray down any areas you think might be bad and it will literally suck out all the H20 and kill any bacteria. We all know how easily squirrels slip In my early days I once saved a " soup squirrell" from 6 days stuck on a truck in mid summer in a plastic bag with no ice. Looked like soup inside the bag when I opened it, I was young and up to the chalange and I saved that sucker believe it or not.

Denatured Alcohol will also do the trick. Add a bit of Glycerin, and it will soften the skin as well.
hydrogen peroxide works very well on freezer burn
