i have a family member who wants to tan a deer he shot this year. he is wanting me to do it, but i do not own a tumbler. should i just have him take it to a real taxidermist, or should i go ahead and do it? i use mckenzie rub on tan and mckenzie safety acid.

You do not need a tumbler for a deer hide, you can achieve a supple soft stretchy hide, just by hand breaking if done correctly.

yes I agree with muscle but make sure to break the hide during the drying process dont wait until its too hard you will know when to do it just watch it closely
