My first blue ribbon!
whats most improved with your mallard pintail drake/???
I was most improved from last year. My birds were ok, but not nearly like they are now. The award wasn't for a specific piece, but since i've competed with ducks and not upland birds I thought it was fitting.
We had some nice pieces, and taxidermist from OK,KS,IL,KY and a few other states I think. That smoking pintail drake was done by an OK boy that decided to bring it to the show last minute. Met a lot of new faces and learned a great deal!
Maybe it's just my iPad but the pic of the pintail is so distorted it looks like I am the one that is smoking!
Gosh...I'm pretty sure I'd sell my soul to work on purple swamphens and coots I've been in love with them since I was 8 years old.
Here, I fixed your pintail pic.
Thanks for the fix! LOL Didn't notice that.
There were a lot of nice birds there. Jim Pitts had the pheasant pair that were really nice. Randy Terry had some nice nice birds, and all the pieces were good. I think we had 60 something pieces.
Congrats on the blue Schenk! Hope to see you at the Louisiana show. Sit with us again and eat some crawfish if you can make it. First weekend in May! I knocking myself out now on several birds as usual and Tanya is working on her mammal piece.
I used to go to that show as a kid, was always a great group of people there and a fun show. Even got taught how to say Yall!
That was the worst show I have ever been to. The politics of this show shows what hapens to a show. One supplier was there
There was zero politics, I have pics to prove more than one supplier was there.
Before you jump off the deep end maybe you better explain what you call politics? Because there was none!!!
Hey one more thing what was your entry?
So that's where you picked that up.....LOL
We had a good show with over 60 entries, a great time and no Politics!!
Everything is fair, Brett D was a judge and then Greg Broomfield(spelling) and they were very professional and did great on judging. We might not all agree with the outcome, but that's any show! Someone always thinks they should get a blue ribbon, or best of something.
Overall it was good. There was 4 or so suppliers there, maybe 5. The big guys aren't going to come to small state shows usually.
Roger Key, you had nothing in competition, you are only a member of the ATA when is it Ft Smith. You dont have a dog int he show or bird or fish.
Will you bring anything to the NTA to Compete with? And yes we are watching to see if you do the mount!
What is that blue flying bird with the caterpillar in its mouth? That is such a beautiful bird!!!
Looks like you had a great show. Congrats to all! =)
Blueberry Roller, from Africa. I am not sure who mounted it, but it was just beautiful!!!
Scott Kellogg mounted it.
As far as I'm concerned James Taxidermy Supply WAS the only Supplier there. Camo guys and Wildlife Gallery don't count as a company to buy Taxidermy Supplies from. Oh I forgot about the skull guy. I went to the show but didn't compete. I'm competing at the Oklahoma show and the NTA show. I'm planning on bringing Eiders and Oldsquaw and a Whitetail. See you there.
