Brook Trout. Male or female???????

    Just wondering what you guys think. Is it a male or female. It was caught a week ago on a lake ice fishing.

    I'm thinking the same due to the elongated head.

    Have you skinned it out yet? If it's a male it should still have milt sacks. (testes) (Elongated white tissue).

    No I haven't skinned it yet. I measured it and put it back in the freezer. I guess I can thaw it out enough to look at the vent. To see if there is 2 holes or 1.

    That won't work. Most fish have a two vents (both male and female). Some sexes have three openings.

    Thanks guys. I thought it was a male. Cecil,I did look at the vent but I couldn't tell,it looked like one big hole.
