Mounted a deer this morning, stretched a bear for a rug on the board this after noon, doing a euro deer this evening. Almost done, last few cuts to remove the jaw and broke the scalpel blade off in my thumb joint, filled my glove and squirted red all over every thing. I got the bleeding stopped and got the blade out. My thumb tip is numb and the joint hurts like hell. Off to the e.r. I guess, unless I can use epo-grip fast set injectable and can I whip stitch or base ball stitch, maybe hidden stitch. 20# fire line outta work. ;D I'm tired of sewing so it's off to the e.r. I think the euro will wait until tomorrow.

Normally when someone does something like this they post pictures. Just kidding, I hope it heals fast.

Keyda81 I'd rather be weird than normal

That sounds really painful! And despite all that you still have your sense of humor! Hope they get you all stitched up at the ER. Feel better!

The blade hit the joint at an angle so it didn't make it into the joint. It did stick into the bone which hurts like hell. Two stitches and a splint and it was back to finishing the meat removal of the euro. I love it when things turn out better than they looked.

Better watch it for a few days and hopefully there's no infection. Hope you feel better soon.

If it wasn't on my sewing hand. I'd have sewn it myself. (Makes Linda sick when I do that :D ) If it were, I would have super glued it. Works good on some pretty ugly cuts. Hope it heals up quick for Ya.

My knee split open and was leaking all over so I used super glue and three stitches. Used lots of alcohol and sinew to stitch it up. Found out latter the reason it split open was because I had a staph infection.
When I get back on my feet I need to disinfect my shop floor. There is blood all over on the floor from my knee that is loaded with staphylococcus bacteria

Yeah it also ended up in my permanent medical records. Every time I go into the hospital I get the " so you're the guy". My doctor thinks it was pretty awesome but asked me not to do it again.
