  1. Im tearing this deer apart to remount it and i was wondering what they used to mount the deer so figured id tear it apart completely instead of just removing the antlers, the earliners are made of looks to be some kinda card board with shelak on it,the form is made of 2x4 and paper, man what those guys had to go through back then making all that stuff musta been tough.my hats off to the oldtimmers.

LMAO Oh the joys of the paper forms. Gives me goosebumps just thinking about them. Maybe it's just acne. LMAO

  3. I tore a mount apart that was mounted in 1910, a 2X3 stick held the skull to the plaque, and the rest was moss stuffed in side the neck, with a piece of cedar hand carved to fit inside the nose, of the skull. Still had the teeth in the skull and old dried up meat, must have been dipped in arsenic. With pounded out lead for ear liners.even had hand blown glass eyes.
