european mounts

Discussion in 'Beginners' started by gary04, Mar 23, 2012.

  1. I have been searching the forum for the last two days and can not find my answer. When doing a european mount do you leave the bottom jaw on or do you remove it and toss it away. So far I have only seen pictures without the bottom jaw.
  2. Depends on what kind of skull you are doing. In most cases animals that have something to show off as head gear such as antlers and horns I toss the lower jaw. All others that I can think of off hand save the lower jaw and are part of the mount. There is no right or wrong way to do it, it really is just up to your preference or to my customers preference. This is just a general statement in most cases. Skullery...Jeff
