Full Bear question ...

  1. I have a 300LBs bear to mount, first time for me ..

    It a front skinning , normal skinning for a rug .. grrrrrrr .

    Customer want a bear on 2 foots, how it the best to do for sewing it ..

    Directly when i mount it ? or made it before and open in dorsal skin ...

    ??? Stef ...

    Stef,most that I do are cut up the front like the one you have.It will work fine if you make good stiches (sewing).If you feel more comfortable,you could sew up the belly before mounting and then make your dorsal incision,but with either method,you have to do neat stitching on the belly.

    If it were mine,I would put it on the form and sew it up just like it is.

    I did one like that with a white blaze on the chest that showed even my best stitch's, I mounted it, let it dry then carefully put epoxy sculpt over my stitchline and painted it. Was more work but you have to look really hard to find that seem.
