Did you re-hydrate and stretch the skin?

Looks like whoever skinned it did an off-center job of it. There's more belly fur on one side than there is on the other, which gives the rug a crooked look. Even so, the taxidermy work on the face looks wonderful.

;) yes they cut the belly off center
and I am cutting off around the legs on my next one.
I see that now. They wanted as much white as possible on it.:)

  9. A little helpful advice, mark out a grid on your stretching board. This will help you keep the skin symmetrical. The tail should always be in alignment with the nose. When you cut off the extra underarm skin tabs from the shoulders, sew them back where they belong in the armpit area. This will give you a larger appearance to your finished rug. You will only get better with each one you do.

    Kind regards,

Mary is a very talented rugger out there,,it would be very wise to listen to the valuable info she so freely offers,,everybody could benefit from her knowledge in the field,,and besides,,she's in Arizona,,,that makes her special.
  11. Thank you for your kind words, old guy.
Been in this business for many years and have aged with my contemporaries. Drop me a PM and let me know which old friend you are. :)
Arizona hasn't been too kind this week with our 110+ temperatures. ;)
