Dont get to do many of these:
They look great! Are they customers' or can I buy them?
I wish, they are customer heads, already went home.
Oh man that Hyena...
Biggest want on my Skull-list D:
OK, same here.
Here is the hyena
and here is the baboon. Both from a customer unfortunately
What are the chances?
Very nice! Would love to work on one of those or even better get one myself! Here we only have stinking fishheads!
Far from done:
Very big monkfish again ! The third big one you got ? Going to beetles or maceration ?
Those are some fantastic skulls. I know your pain, Nukawin. I would kill for a hyena skull.
But I have a quick question about hyenas. So female hyenas have a small, non-functioning penis, right? Do female hyenas have a baculum? That'd be one hell of a trophy. AND one hell of an awkward explanation. ;D
Actually, it is called a pseudopenis. Not a real one. I don't believe there is a baculum. As for the hyena skull, that is incredible and much bigger than the one I have.
Neither male nor female hyenas are supposed to have bacula. Unfortunately I've never dissected one, but several papers indicate no bone.
Just returned to a customer. It was his first buck. Sorry for the poor quality, it is from a cell phone photo.
Mountain lion with the front claws
JC: it lies in a beetle box now, but the lower jaw, tongue and gill bow were broken, so it won't be a spectacular skull. Good practice nonetheless. Tomorrow or the day after I'll post pictures from today's harvest which defrosts right now, I'll be busy coming days!
My first mammal prey domestic cat
I didn't clean or dip these... I just put them on the driftwood and panel, thought I'd share..
