Caught this sunfish today and have never seen one quite like it. Maybe a hybrid? Any ideas?

Thanks- you are right on the money. Out of the thousands of bream and sunfish ive caught that is a first. Must not be too common around here.

Neat little fish really like the fin colors

  7. They don't typically get as large as their cousins (world record is 2 pounds 2 ounces, but it's rare to see them over 3/4 of a pound in the northern half of the lower 48). They are however very aggressive and very pretty little fish!

They are nothing but a junk fish here in Michigan. I throw everyone of them that I catch up on the bank.

Yep...green sunfish...I had the state record here in NC for about 6 or 7 yrs. They rarely get as large as fish other fish in the sunfish family. The world record is only a little over 2lbs.We used to catch them out of some small ponds around here. They are really aggressive fish.
