George The older I get, the better I was.

I get lots of PM's during the course of a week. Most are inquisitive, some are gratuitous, and then there are those like yours whose intent seems to be to insult me. Just so you know, I'm impossible to insult because that only works if I allow it. But then, most of the ones who do try it, don't block me from passing it right back like you did. So that everyone can see what led to this post, I'll let them see if I was out of line.

    You wrote:
Hi George.Yes i am an American, and it is leagal to hunt and sell crows in many states. Are you from America George? ::)

    And I replied:
Iserman, I am from America and have lived here for 67 years except when military service sent me to some exotic place. While it is legal to HUNT crows in nearly every state, it is patently ILLEGAL to "buy, sell, trade, or barter" them in each and every state in the US. To do so violates the Federal Migratory Bird Act and makes you susceptible to jail and fines up to $5000. But you don't have to take my word for it, go ahead and do it. You may not get caught.

Excellent reply George! We cannot help those who refuse to help themselves. The consequences of selling that bird and getting caught are not just bad, they're very bad!

This guy is so ignorant and smug, I can't help but hope that he gets arrested for a very hefty fine. That would wipe the self-assured smile off his face

I was thinking of driving up to New Hampshire this weekend. He said they have a seaon on ravens there. I've been wanting one of those for a long time.

I find the bird laws confusing myself, we can hunt crows and wild turkeys here in Indiana, but don't get caught hanging onto a feather if you didn't hunt the entire animal. However I certainly would not attack someone who was just trying to inform me that I was in danger of getting myself arrested. I think the most telling thing is blocking you from replying, guess they like having the last word, even if they are wrong.

This guy is an idiot! This sale or offer for sale of a $200 illegal bird is going to cost him a minimum of $5000. In attorneys fees. And that is best case scenario. After the feds read on here what an arrogant prick he is after multible well meaning people on here did there best to inform him he is breaking the law. I would not be surprised if there is prison time involved. They LOVE guys like this that think they have all the answers.

Rick......Since you are unhelpable to keep you from getting arested it is probably too late for that now so here is a little post arrest advice..

I hope you have a pit bull of an attorney and a healthy balance in your checking account to pay for his retainer. You should also have your wife program your attorneys numbers in her phone because you will not be able to give them to her once your are locked up, make sure she has his cell phone and home too so you do not have to sit in there all night.. If you don't have an attorney i suggest you get one asap. Because as abrasive of an a hole as you are i can almost guarantee some one here has already made the call. If the feds have not just read it themselves. I would advise you to say nothing to them when they arrest you. You know the part when they say"any thing you say can and will be used against you" they will never say "anything you say can be used for you" so when they take you just shut your trap and wait for your attorney to come for you. don't even engage in small talk. I would also print any and all post and PM's and bring those to your attorneys he will need them. deleting them or the post will do no good as the feds already have screen shots saved and you can not really delete any thing off the server any ways. they will supenia ken for the PM's.
also if you really did give the owl back to who ever you got it from I would suggest you give them a curticy call as they are going to need to get lawyer-ed up too...
    Good luck to you..

Haha...haven't we all, it'd be stading room only if that ever became legal!

Keyda81 I'd rather be weird than normal

Ignorance isn't always bliss. I'm an idiot half the time, and I still know it's illegal to sell crows. Oh well, it will be their arse.

I am with Randy, I have never heard of a law forbidding us to have a found Turkey feather.

Turkeys are considered upland game bird, not migratory or song bird or other "untouchable" type over-regulated species.
I'm huge on conservationism but the bird laws in this country are stupid, unimaginative and archaic. They suck.

Snowhare we don't insult your country. Bird laws didn't have anything to do with our being free. I don't people illegally immigrating to your country for a reason. Now if we can just get rid of this "socialism" plague.

Not legally you can't, and if you don't know better, you should. There are still season dates and various regulations even for private property, no matter what state you are in. No need to BS the foreigner
