smalliestalker and a river runs through it.

Harvested a couple of drake greenheads this morning before work. And, a first for me, a Drake Gadwall. Pretty bird. (But then, most are.)

  2. Nice pics everyone!

This past weekend I made it up to the cabin and shot a few. The bag consisted of geese, mallards, woodies, bwt, gwt and ringbills. It's a bad rice year but the hunting has actually been pretty decent so far.

Got a few mallards after the Packers win today. One made the mistake of coming overhead. Another was a beautiful, chunky drake.

  10. Opening day here in WNY. All of the bigger ducks (mallards/woodies) were sky high after the shooting started on public land, plenty of GW teal buzzing around. One flew a little too close...

A good morning in north central Montana. Foggy, and tons of birds in the area. My shooting was horrific. I should have been done in an hour. The two snow geese were a nice bonus. Both dropped on the first shot, then I short pumped my shotgun, and jammed the empty. I had the world to myself.
