    Great pics guys! I'm especially impressed with the black grouse and ptarmigan. Beautiful birds!

    Quick question: how does one go about "getting into" bird hunting for taxidermy? As in, what kind of gun should I use (for waterfowl vs. upland)? How do I make sure the birds I shoot won't be torn up?
    Serious noob over here :eek:

    I miss mine, had to put her down this spring. It is too early to get another one. Hopefully soon.

    some more diver ducks from this weekend, what to do deer hunt or diver hunt ???

    a quote I found online: "Anyone can hunt mallards. Guys who don't even much like to hunt can get used to sitting in a comfy blind and shoot puddle ducks, but you have to be born a diver hunter. You have to really really love to hunt ducks to deal with frozen hands, rough water and the hard work it takes to hunt divers. "
