That is one hell of a puzzle. I would not know where to begin on a project of that magnitude. Please keep posting progress photos.

Thanks guys, but I won't pretend that I really know what I'm doing, lol

I was telling Mr. Ray today that even though this is the second elephant that he let me work on, I still couldn't do one on my own. It's a lot harder than it looks and I may be wrong but I think he has over 15 elephants under his belt! (sm, ped, half, and l/s)

Anyway, here's a few more pictures from today, hopefully he will be up and standing tomorrow :)

Well it took us just a little over 3 and a half days to mount it, but the hardest part was standing him up on his feet.

Here's the the elephant from yesterday all mounted, carded and lightly bagged.

Then we spent the morning making room around the elephant, and getting the forklift to work. Then the real work, figuring out how to lift and turn it without breaking the legs. But it worked out great with Wayne and Bones helping us, they are my fellow taxidermist coworkers :)

I forgot to add that to satisfy my own curiosity, I measured the seams... There was over 125 feet of sewing on this elephant...

I was always amazed at mounting a elephant... So how long does it need to dry before you can fininsh. And how much glue did it take......Im just amazed.

ShastaDonegan Lets start with ridiculous and move backwards.

Daniel are those artificial ears and if so why are they needed instead of the real ears?
