Preserving Velvet Antlers

    Heard this today from a customer who said an "old timer" taxidermist (yes, he's older than you, George!, ;D) told him to do this:
    If the velvet is hard to the horn, paint it with turpentine. Does it work?

    George The older I get, the better I was.

    He's also dumber than George. NO!!! You end up with a greasy mess.

    I've never heard of using turpentine before.

    If you need those freeze dried let me know . I just bought a 36x66 North Star freeze dry machine about a month or so ago . I am now running 3 North Star Machines. So I have some room if you need them done.
