recently tanned a deer hide, followed the instructions perfectly, and most of the skin came out pretty good, most of the skin is white but there are some spots that look like they havent dried or something, is this something i can fix?

Be more specific as to what you tanned it with - that would help. Was a "soak" tan or a paint on type - or what? However, those still moist spots do sound baffling. unless it involves an excess of oil in those areas, that needs to be removed. The tan may still be good - but maybe an oiling problem that can be fixed.

i used a van dykes lutan-f soak tan, the spots are now dried but are very hard and unworkable i tried working the edge of one spot and it ended up breaking off, so now i have soft hide in some places and very hard spots in other places

I have noticed the hard spots, may be thicker spots of hide.
