    Just a quick quition with the blade of a skife is the blade suppose to slide all the way across the littel opening ? mine might go half way.

    the blade should be covering/above the whole opening. you could just open the gap a little to make it fit. don't open to much because you do want it snug so the razor doesn't come out while you are using it.

    That, you could have something blocking the opening at the end. Sometimes that is where excess small shaving pieces will get in.

    Keep it oiled and clean! I like using them except for the changing the blades sometimes!

    If the skife is blocked inside, take a propane torch heat up, it will burn the tough flesh that is sometimes hard to remove.

    Or...Take an old blade and dull the blade and break it to make a scraper. Spray the slot with windex (or water will do), scrape out the slot, oil and install a new blade.
