grey fox ears

    anyone know why a grey foxes ears would be chewed off..?? i found a road killed fox but its ears where gone and had been long healed.... :-\

    because i see there are a lot of hunters here and i thought they might know but since this is a snotty site i will leave ya'll alone and leave thanks for nothing...why is it so hard for people to be nice anymore..???!!!!! :(

    thefishn1...;-D... no i dont think we get that cold in memphis...didnt know if it could be a dominance thing since it was male....."shrug"
     
  6. Maybe it got attacked by another fox or coyote?
     
  7. If not from spat with it's siblings or another gray fox, I've heard of rabbits over-grooming their babies (usually first-time mothers) so much so that they end up practically eating parts of and/or entire ears/paws/legs/tails of the kits. Could be a similar issue with that gray fox you found.
