Any pointers on mounting one of these big guys?
Does that 3 ft. tail come off, then get re-attached during mounting {similiar to a turkey}?

    Thanks,

Hi I mount alot of peacocks The tail should be removed cut it off just under the back feathers as close as you can get and try not to cut off too many of the those back feathers. Try to only remove the tail feathers this will make the finished product look alot better. As far as the rest of the bird its just a big pheasant.

I have seen where the tail actually screwed onto the bird so it could be removed to ease shipping or moving. A block of wood was embedded into the body to except the screws.

I've mounted countless peacocks and I've never removed the tail except for a full-fan pose. No need to remove the tail. Not saying one method is better than another, just saying it's not the only method.
