help with relaxing hard dry african

    Trying to relax a cape buffalo cape "fresh" from africa, any advise to how to soften this so I can get tanning it. Thanks for any tips!

    You have you hands full attempting to home tan a cape buff, definitely a job for a commercial tannery that has a wet drum to re hydrate. Not saying you can't do it but you will be cussing every step of the way

An aquaintance of mine suspends salted water buff capes in a large chook wire cage then throws the whole lot in the creek he has behind his workshop , he has constantly changing water and movement, and wire cage keeps the yabbies ( crawdads) under control. 8 hrs is all he needs, asiatic water buff capes are about an. 1 1/4 " thick and when salt dried weigh about 60 lb
