That nose to eye seems short for that big buck, that's probably going to be a problem. Just finished one with about the same neck but the A: was 7-3/4. Used a Research 470B swelled, don't know if that will help you or not.

Try Revolution. They have the custom techno head/face system. You can let a lot of different sizes by using their system.

With that E-N your going to need a change out head and the have to alter that as well to make it look right. Take a lot of measurements. Revolution is my choice.
  8. you dont have to use a changeout head. you can change the length yourself and save the money.

George The older I get, the better I was.

Change out heads are not your friend. Avoid them when possible. A DEER that big is going to have a BIG WIDE HEAD. If you put a 7 inch change out head on a neck like that it's going to look like a wart on a hippo. Order the neck size then alter the muzzle. Simply cut a wafer out BEHIND the lip line and foam it back together. Then rasp down the contour.

Depending on how much you need to shorten the face, you might want to make two separate cuts to remove length which would make for easier transitions.

Not a good idea. The only place you can "shorten" a face without compromising the anatomy is behind the lip and in front of the lacrymal gland.

Do nobody take eye to eye measurements? This measurement is way more important than EtN. By knowing the width of the head you get a better idea of the head shape. Length of the nose is just length of the nose, some deer have long or short noses but doesn't mean their head is big or small. On 95% of my commercial deer I can say what size head it will go on without even measuring EtE or EtN but I still do to confirm my educated guess. However when you get the occasional oddball you take both those measurements and determine what head to start with and where and how you need to alter it do get close (techniques already mentioned above). I don't know enough about texas deer to say which head is going to be a good starting point as far as what a mature texas deers head normally is like.

I question the accuracy of those measurements, especially from a south Texas deer. Of all the deer I have taken in over the years, I have only seen a few with necks 24" or larger and all were northern deer that weighed well over 200 pounds dressed.

This is a true measurement I have never received one that big in all my 35plus years of Taxidermy, I think I can get another 1/2 or so eye to nose ,he has a head like a cow ,very full,I am waiting on Ohio Taxidermy supply cat. to see what they have. Thanks for all yalls help!

T3 Kyle gave you the best answer, you will not find any form out of the box to fit that. If that is a true measurement, that deer is in the 220 to 240 pound range and any form of that size will be a large framed deer with a big boxie head you will need to alter as any form of that size will have a E-N of 71/2 to 8 inches

Sorry George, I should have been a little more detailed in my explaintion. When I take multiple cuts it is in the gap between the back of the mouth and in front of the eyes. I just assumed people would realize not to make a cut thru an eye or thru the lips.
