Couple cool mulies

    Here's a remount of a "cactus" buck killed back in the late 60's in Eastern Oregon. It was a stag.


    This one was killed last year in early October. Looks like he never rubbed, just let the velvet deteriorate. Not sure why, hunter said he was " intact ". Injury possibly?

  4. Nice work. When I was elk hunting in CO last fall in mid Oct I saw several mulies that were still in velvet.

    I've seen and mounted many October bucks with velvet, but this one was was odd. He has the bloody "skin" that is under the velvet dried all over his horns. If he had been rubbing, this should be at least mostly rubbed off. The customer almost had me strip it. Glad he let it stay, it's kind of cool!

    Looks good. I like to ask what form you used? You did a good job on painting those ears.
