gray fox

    i have been a taxidermist for years and have taken on two gray fox i have skinned and salt dryed both the hides but when i washed the first fox to get it ready to tan the hair started to slip does anyone know why the jair would slip at this point should i dry tan them instand of wet tanning

  4. Probably starting to go bad before you even salted.

    i thought the same but wasnt sure ive never did a fox before and wasnt sure because of the thin hide
     
  6. Ya foxes are trickey get some stop rot and put on while thawing it helps slow the process down. then salt
