    Daniel,
Nice collection of mounts there. I had to look twice because I was with your customer when he took the half life size stag and one of the tahr. He and I were at the same outfitter in NZ last year and took our tahr the same day. Nice job as always.

Thanks and wow! That's pretty cool, especially that you were able to recognize the stag. It brought a tear to my eye when I had to cut that nice lifesize skin in half, they are my favorite of all deer and if I ever get one, I'm definatly doing it lifesize :)

Here's another picture of it, finished and in the process of making the habitat

  5. Daniel, when you have the tanned cape and all other pieces ready to go, on average, how long does it take you to prep and put together a deer shoulder mount? On average? No finish work included, just to get it to be drying on the wall

It's hard to say, on average I try to do three a day and that's prepping them, altering (if I need to), cutting and attaching the skull plates, prepping the form and mounting them. Sometimes though I just run out of hours in a day and only get 2 done. I try to leave them on the mounting stands for a day so I can go over them as they dry.

Finished my 5th mount (second impala) from our 2011 hunt. Used different eyes which I think were the better choice. Leaving hardest for last (my 2006 warthog). Should be interesting. ::)

Got it out of the mckenzie catalogue. Neck and bottom jaw was way too small so I built it up with foam & clay and carved to fit
