What is the best way to box and pack mounted birds for shipment?

    Thanks,

Honestly there isnt one that I have found. I hate shipping birds. Best thing that i do it build a wood crate around it and fit it in a card board box and screw the bird base to the crate.

I ship 99% of all my work through out the US. I have tried everything from bubble wrap to foam peanuts. I now build wooden crates out of OSB 1/2inch type then secure the mount to the bottom and cover the bird in a clear plastic bag. This way you can see feathers etc while stuffing unfaced house insulation around the bird. I have been sent pictures of birds after arriving at the clients home and they look almost the same as before shipping.
    Hope that helps.
