   I recently had a taxidermist mount a deer for me. He put the tag around the base of one of the antlers. I don't want it on there. As the owner of the head, am I required by law to leave the tag on there. I was going to cut it off and toss it...

   Only the taxidermist is required by law to have it while its at his shop. You can toss it but it might be a good idea to keep it for your records.
