bear skull question

    I just boiled down a bear skull and want to whiten it in peroxid.my question is do i need to gegress it first and if so how would i go about degressing.

    yes ,degrease for a couple months.
  4. good luck getting that grease out now...................you just cooked it in by boiling. expect several months .

    Use advanced search .. Search skulls and skeletons section and use the term degrease or degreasing.

    And next time, don't boil skulls! In the best case scenario, is cooks the grease in and adds weeks or months to the time it takes to degrease them. In the worst case scenario, you might have ruined your skull.

    If, after the weeks of degreasing, your skull starts to flake (because you boiled some of the collagen out of it) then come back on here and search "paraloid".
