Oil Glands

Discussion in 'Beginners' started by ada2453, May 29, 2013.

  1. Here's a stupid question. I was watching a tutorial on fleshing a cape with a mini flesher and he showed how to remove the oil glands around the eyes on a Whitetail cape. My question is do all animals have this gland and do I need to remove it? I've done a couple of antelope and a mule deer and I did not know about this gland and so I didn't remove it.

It is not 'A' gland.....it is several of them.

Every animal I've done has had them. I remove all of them.

Any animal having eyelashes has them and they all need to be cleaned.
