Had a lady bring me this little guy after she had him by her porch for 2 days with no sign of momma coming back. Took a few pics before taking him to wildlife rehab :)

George The older I get, the better I was.

The doe was there, just no one saw it. I wish people would stop screwing with Mother Nature.

A doe will leave her fawn in a safe place and may stay away from it for hours or more so that she doesn't lure predators near it.

Nearly every case of "abandoned" fawn I hear about is the same that the general public is just too uneducated to understand. That fawn is much MUCH too healthy to have been truly abandoned, and the doe likely thought near the house was the safest place away from dogs and other critters.

They are beautiful, but like good taxidermy work, they should be touched by our eyes only.

It was literally bedded on her porch for two days, the lady said it would follow her around the house while she was outside with the horses. I honestly think it was abandoned cuz it was super tiny like no more than a week old at tops. It wasnt like the lady just scooped it up and took it home with her. She watched out for the mom for 2 days and it never showed up. You never know what happened.
