  8. customer wanted option to hang on the wall maybe in the future, so I left the back flat. before mounting the cape I coated the back of the form with mixture of sheet rock mud, paper pulp and dextrine. I don't measure, just use handfuls. I added a little tempra paint near the end of mixing. I want the paint to be swirly and not thoroughly mixed. spread on the back of the form with putty knife to thin coat. I then texture with natural sponge. Mashed in the hoof prints with my fingers. After it's dry I lightly paint in the hoof prints with tempera paint. total time including mixing everything, applying, painting tracks was maybe 15 minutes. I usually do 5 or 6 at a time so it really cuts down on the time for each.
