Fish ID help?

Discussion in 'Fish Taxidermy' started by tobey522, Jul 14, 2013.

  1. We were fishing the Niagara River this weekend and this fish washed up on shore. It looked to be a newborn? It still had what looked like umbilical cord attached to it. However we couldn't identify it for sure. Since snake head aren't supposed to be here, it could be a bow fish maybe? With the dorsal fin that goes all the way down, that's what we came up with. Just thought I would post to see what you guys thought. :)

That Umbilical cord wasnt an umbilical cord ;)

  3. Brown trout bait!
  4. Seagull food. Or cutbait. Leave a little skin on the chunk of meat and it'll stay on the hook perch after perch after perch.

Those things have been so thick in the st. clair river in the past few years you couldn't fish a night crawler long enough to catch a walleye without them eating it, and this year for some unknown reason we haven't caught one, anyone know why they disappeared?
  6. Thank you! JKnuth that looks exact! Haha 10-4 on the "umbilical cord" lmao
