    what kinda bird is this?

    It looks like a juvenile bittern (perhaps a striped back), to me.

  4. Looks like an American Bittern. Maybe a young one. I see a few each year around the Tennessee river.

    Thought it was a bittern, Thanks. Black crowned it is!
  9. Thousands of them behind my house in South Louisiana if caught killing one $ 2500.00 fine per bird I try not to even look at them they might make me pay something lol!!
