Just got back from the mornings hunt. No one has started this post up yet so here it is ...........

Our wonderful state sets the sandhill season from Sept 1-15 . I hunt the fields next to the refuge and usually have a great hunt . This morning was one of those good ones .

I look forward to your pictures , successful or not, as we enjoy our time in the field. Jay

Got the family out for opening weekend of dove.

My son shot a case of .410 shells out of a single shot.

    One hunt he got 9/25.

    Not birds but gotta share.
Went to help my buddy full his gator tags. Every yr the kids get more involved.
    Setting the lines.

Grabbing a few little ones for pics.

Momma even got in on the action
    [IMG]

Ended up filling the 9 tags. All 7-9 ft. Had one 12+ on that straightened the hook and got away.

Yeah we love spending time in the outdoors hunting together. This weekend for teal hunting I will have me, my wife,my brother ,both of my boys ,and both grandfathers. I even convinced Mr. Shane Smith and Heather to come spend a few days Dove and teal hunting with us too.

I'm at the point where most of our hunts are all about family and friends.

Had Shane and heather over for 5 days. We whacked on the dove pretty good, piled up some teal, and went to the a and m/bama game.

Man Todd, you are livin' the dream for sure! Very cool!

My wife and I took my 2 year old out for her first duck hunt. She has been in the field with us since she was 6 weeks old and has been deer hunting but this was her first duck hunt. (not including all the times she has "shot" my birds around the house with her pretend gun ::) ) We didn't get but one teal and a dove but it was really fun. At one point my daughter sneaked in some calling by leaning over and grabbing my lanyard as I was blowing a whistle at some teal. It was really cute/funny.

Then today I managed a limit and my dog had one heck of a blind retrieve in all those lily pads on a bird that still had quite a bit of spunk.

Here is the base for our new blind, also done today. Should be nice when/if the water comes up.

The best part about this post is the amount of kids enjoying themselves. Fantastic.

    Blue wings for breakfast:

Got my boys out this am. Big flocks this am but they buzzed around the middle of our fresh 70 acres of water. Got a big flock in once and cut 8.

First one lit in the decs and payed for it.

Lotta pintails this morning. They worked like champs.
