So if skulls or bones are going to be displayed outside will a Paraloid dip protect them from the elements and help them be less interesting to animals?

    Yes.

  3. I suppose so but exposing them to the elements at all is a bad idea. Is it necessary to display them outside?

Paraloid will help but not long. If you are going to just stick them outside, perhaps not use it at all? It will slow the degradation of the bone from the weather but not forever. As for animals? No. Animals wanting calcium are still going to gnaw on them. If it is small enough to be moved, Fido or a raccoon is still going to run off with it to gnaw on. (Or some neighbors kid)
